Details: Citric acid is universally applicable and nowadays almost indispensable in every field. It can also be used in home brewing for cleaning, descaling, or in winemaking. In the food industry, citric acid is mainly used for preserving, visually enhancing, or acidifying low-acid juices, musts, mashes, jams, jellies, and preserves. If fruits naturally have a low acid content (sweet cherries, Delicous apples, or Williams-Christ pears), their shelf life and appearance suffer (rapid oxidation). In this case, a dosage of 3g/l can have a very beneficial effect on appearance and shelf life. The addition can be made directly after the juice has been extracted. As a cleaning agent, citric acid reliably removes scale, limescale, and other dark-colored deposits in brewing kettles or brewing equipment and, when used correctly, is also a safe aid - please wear gloves when handling citric acid. For exact dosing, use one of our precision scales to avoid over- or under-dosing. Dosage form: powder Dosage: for wine up to 3g / l - for cleaning 20 - 50g / l Effect: 8.5g / 10 l increases the acidity by 1 g / l Contents: 1000g citric acid (100%) E330, food grade Please store in a dry and, if possible, dark place at room temperature. The acidity of must/wine is always given in g tartaric acid/l. In French literature, the acidity is given in sulfuric acid. The acidity in sulfuric acid = the acidity in tartaric acid ÷ 1.53. The acidity in tartaric acid = the acidity in sulfuric acid x 1.53.
