Details: Origin: The Jacaranda is native to South America, Asia, and Spain. Location/Brightness: The Jacaranda should be in a bright to full sun location. If the Jacaranda is placed in too dark a location, it will lose its leaves. But don't worry, it will sprout again in the spring. In summer, a bright to sunny spot outdoors is possible. Care: The Jacaranda needs a soil mixture of 2/3 universal compost and 1/3 sand. Keep the soil moist, but avoid waterlogging, as otherwise the leaves will turn yellow and fall off. Fertilize every 14 days from April to October with container plant fertilizer. The lower fronds are shed due to stem formation. Stem pruning is possible. The Jacaranda will sprout again at the cut point. Wintering: Ensure a frost-free winter. The plant should overwinter at temperatures between 10°C and 22°C. Continue to keep the soil moist, as dry soil will cause the leaves to shrivel and turn brown. Provide additional air circulation. The Jacaranda is a robust plant that can be kept for many years. Interesting facts: The Jacaranda grows excellently in our garden as a pot or container plant. It is a beautiful ornamental tree with delicate, bipinnate leaves and blue-violet bell-shaped flowers. Detailed planting and care instructions are included with the seed shipment.
