In case of timpanic energy (glued ear). During the first week of treatment, Otovent should be used at least three times a day (morning, noon, evening) with one blowing process in each nostril. After one week, Otovent should be used at least twice a day (morning and evening). Treatment may take more than one month and several months of treatment may be required for maximum clinical effect. Consult your doctor after 2-3 weeks to decide whether to continue treatment. To relieve symptoms after flying, diving or pressure chamber treatmentWhen used in connection with flying, Otovent should be used 3-4 times as soon as the descent begins. If symptoms persist, treatment can be continued after landing. Otovent can be used before/after diving and during/after a pressure chamber treatment to relieve symptoms. Step-by-step instructions: the nose piece must be clean. 1. Connect the nose balloon via the flat end of the nose piece. 2. Hold the spherical part of the nose piece firmly against the left nostril with your left hand. Hold your right nostril together with your right index finger.3. Breathe deeply through the mouth, then close your mouth and inflate the nose balloon by blowing through your left nostril until the nose balloon is the size of a grapefruit (10-12 cm). 4. Swallow, with the inflated nose balloon still firmly pressed against the nostril, a few times.5. Repeat the process through your right nostril. It may take some practice to learn how to use Otovent. Slightly pre-stretching the nose balloon before first use can facilitate ventilation.
