Thorough and consistent brushing of baby teeth is especially important, as they affect both the development of speech and the position of the permanent teeth that follow. It's therefore worthwhile to introduce children to brushing their teeth in a playful and enjoyable way from the very beginning.
Elmex children's toothpaste is specially developed for children between 2 and 6 years old to thoroughly clean baby teeth. Amine fluoride, with an age-appropriate fluoride concentration*, forms a triple defense mechanism against cavities while being gentle on the gums. The calcium fluoride layer protects tooth enamel from caries-related mineral loss, and previously dissolved minerals are reintegrated. This makes baby teeth more resistant to cavities. This children's toothpaste, with its mild flavor and scientifically tested formula, is suitable for daily use.
For optimal results in the care of baby teeth, we recommend the additional use of the elmex children's toothbrush 2-6.
Directions: Brush teeth twice daily with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste. From the age of 6, use elmex Junior toothpaste with 1400 ppm amine fluoride and an adjusted flavor. To prevent excessive swallowing, brush teeth only under supervision. Consult your dentist or doctor if additional fluoride is ingested.

Warnings
What amount of fluoride is safe for toddlers and babies? The German Dental Association recommends that children between 2 and 6 years of age use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste containing 1,000 ppm of fluoride daily. For children under two years of age, the daily dose should be only a grain of rice-sized amount containing 1,000 ppm or a pea-sized amount of toothpaste containing 500 ppm of fluoride. (Most children's toothpastes contain between 1,000 and 1,400 ppm.)
